Monkixx is a DJ/Producer from London. He has been creating and DJing music for many years. He gained a 1st class honours in (Bsc) Music Technology at the University of Hertfordshire. University is where Monkixx gained his love for Bass heavy music, shifting his taste from the old school, club classic and UK Garage vibe. He produces a variety of genres with Bass being the common denominator.
Monkixx had a remix for Don Goliath on the remix album “Skastep Runs the World (Dubstep Remixes)” on Dubstep Division records. His tracks “Boogiemonster” and “Blackout” have also gained him some recognition in the Bass music scene.
Getting influences all over for his current EP (Tired) Monkixx sees the Tired EP show 3 different Bass angles in the 3 different tracks. The title track “Tired” hits with Reese style bass lines with a catchy vocal line from singer/songwriter Joe Taylor. The second track “Everyday” comes with a minimalistic vibe with heavy ‘Wubs’ for the old school dub step heads. The final track “Africa” brings out the 110bpm Dubstep come Moombahton vibe, with heavy hitting high end bass lines to compliment the dancehall/carnival vibe on the track.
The EP has been getting some good feedback from a lot of artists in the scene and been played on radio stations such as Rinse FM.
