BIOGRAPHY

B.A.D which stands for Born After Dark lives in Birmingham and was born in London. He moved here when he was 8 years old. He has been rapping for over 6 years now. At 1st he was only free styling on famous instrumentals and then after some mates and family telling him he is talented they encouraged him to get more serious, start rapping and making tracks. He has recorded 7 unofficial mixtapes, where he mainly was rapping about things that have happened to him in the past, experiences he has been through and a bit about his relationships that he has been in. He used famous instrumentals mainly to produce his mixtape albums but he used his own lyrics which he has always written by himself. Since the start of 2008 he has been mainly working on developing into a confident artist and perfecting his writing skills and his voice. Music or shall I say becoming a successful artist wasn’t his main dream but since he was about 15 he has made it his priority to become one and give it his best shot. After school he started taking rapping more seriously and he was addicted to writing and listening to music. He is an open minded person when it comes to music and so he listens to all genres of music but mainly Hip Hop, R&B, Rap, Garage and Reggae. He also listen to others genres sometimes which helps him to come up with new ideas towards his music. Since 2008 he had become more creative and begun to produce his own instrumentals and rap on them. He is a very honest, loyal, hard working, committed individual. Since the start of 2011 he has focused on trying to get heard by music industry professionals break into the industry. He had also been working hard during the summer of 2008 to complete his 1st official mixtape album “The Grand Entrance” which consisted of 20 tracks which was released on ITunes, Amazon & other popular online digital music stores. After this he had completed his 2nd official mixtape album “Darkness” which was released in the summer of 2009. This had a positive response on an international scale as well as nationally.  In 2010 he released his 3rd official mixtape album “Darkness – Volume 2” which brought back a positive response again internationally. From this album he released 3 singles which included tracks called “Music’s My Life” as the 1st single and “Step Back” which was the 2nd single both gaining really good responses. Finally was the 3rd single “Hold Your Head” which had received the highest response. In between each album he also released a mixtape each year to remain consistant. After his latest album “Darkness – Volume 2” he began to work on a mixtape trilogy called “Xclusive” which was set to be released in 3 parts and the aim of this mixtape trilogy was to showcase all the exclusive artists that he wanted to feature on almost every single track. In the end there wasn’t a 3rd part but parts 1 & 2 featured over 25 artists across both mixtapes. During this time he also found a production deal with a independent label based in Essex called “Nightshade Music Limited”. He worked cloesly with the owner and solo producer & engineer “J.Charles” who produced over 15 tracks that he recorded in his recording studio. 11 of those tracks were used for his 1st promo/demo called “Deceived” which he released in March 2011. This was released for free download and a selection of tracks were sent to radio stations and labels. The other 4 tracks were held back be added to his latest album he has been working hard to complete called “Resistance” which is set to release 2012/2013.

He has also performed in a list of showcases, charity events and festivals in venues across the UK including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Peterborough, Dorset, Stoke On Trent, Wolverhampton & more.
